We at Bahalo are absolute foodies! Our founder Melanie has been vegan for more than 8 years and since living in Bali she is in a vegan food heaven. In this blog post she shares her absolute must try vegan restaurants in Bali and around. So if you are a plant based lover or would like to give it a try you should not miss these 15 vegan hot spots in Bali:
UBUD

1.Sayuri Healing Food
The name says it all. Every bite of Sayuri's food feels like an inner healing. There is no cleaner, unprocessed food than here. Let yourself be enchanted by these raw vegan dishes and yes you can hardly believe it. Everything is raw - just not as you experienced it before! Bahalo founder Melanie's absolutely favorite dish: the Galactic Bowl with their famous raw mesan!

2.Zest

Zest goes beyond anything you ever thought you knew about vegan. You wouldn't be the first to be firmly convinced it's NOT vegan. Not only will you find exceptional flavors in the incredibly delicious dishes, but also an extraordinary atmosphere with buddhas, trees, and all sorts of comfortable seating. For both breakfast and dinner, it's an absolute must! As it is quite popular make sure you reservate a table upfront.

3.Alchemy

The large salad bar where you can put together your own bowl would be highlight enough, but the vegan sweets and desserts are an absolute dream. Especially the vegan cheese platter is especially recommended as an appetizer. Tip: Alchemy recently opened its own yoga studio across from the restaurant. It is the perfect afternoon combination of soul, body & food!

Atman is almost a tradition in ubud. Yogis, hippies and real "Ubudians" meet here for the famous avo toast or Jamu - a local healing drink made of tumeric, ginger & tamarind.. Here you can eat comfortably sitting on comfy cushions and take a break with all kinds of healthy smoothies, teas and snacks. Atman has two locations in the famous Jalan Hanoman which is perfect for an afternoon stroll with its small boutiques ending up at the famous Monkey Forest.

You've probably seen the restaurant's famous pink palm wall on instagram. But far besides that, Kynd is one of the best vegan places the island has to offer. The peace-zza will blow your mind and the cauliflower wings will get you hooked. If you still have a small hunger after that, you can feast on vegan ice cream in their incredible own ice cream store next door.

15.Give

As delicious as the traditional warung food in Bali may be, as a vegan it is sometimes difficult to find enough choices here. The Give cafe (sister of Kynd) has not only changed this by making all warung dishes vegan, but donates the entire proceeds to charity organizations on the island. Especially recommended is the urab - local vegetables with shredded coconut.
